Description

  • Insulated with rigid foam insulation (R-value 7.5 for 1.5″), between 3/8″ plywood walls. In comparison, sheep’s wool provides a total R-value of ~6.9, and 3/4″ pine lumber is about R-1.
  • Insulated walls mimic the inside of a hollow tree, bees’ natural environment.
  • Layens frames (13” long x 16” deep) are ideal for bees’ development and wintering.
  • Ventilated top covered with aluminum.
  • Entrance gate discs and corner trim included.
  • Divider board included.
