Nucleus colony of honeybees on 5 Layens frames, ready to move into your own Layens hives.
These colonies come from my own, treatment-free apiary. I strive to raise bees able to manage themselves against parasites to increase the sustainable health of my colonies.
- Nucs come from my healthiest, proven survivor stock, local to the St Louis, Missouri area.
- All queens are at least 2nd generation survivor stock; never from an original swarm, cutout or trap-out.
- Queens are raised from my colonies, not purchased from elsewhere.
- Colonies have never received treatments for mites or disease.
Purchaser acknowledges the following:
- Nucleus colonies will be available for pickup or local delivery in the St. Louis, MO area. Delivery beyond 20 miles of the seller’s location may incur additional charges.
- Buyer can request an overwintered 2023 queen or a new 2024 queen but selection is not guaranteed. If a colony with an overwintered queen is not available then a colony with a new (mated and laying) queen will be provided.
- These are treatment-free colonies for which no mite counts or “official” inspection certificate is given. Colony health and vitality is assessed by routine inspections.
- Colonies are available only to buyers within Missouri and must be picked up or delivered in person (no shipping).
